How to Add Banners to your YouTube Channel

You need to become a YouTube Partner first.

That's because only YouTube Partners have the ability to add a custom header or banner with links to their YouTube Channel.

So if you want to become a YouTube Partner, go to http://www.youtube.com/partners , fill out the application, and...

1. Consistently upload videos that get views
2. Have an audience
3. Don't use copyright materials

Once you get accepted, you can make a crazy cool header (and money).

No seriously, I have a monetized account with only like 5 or so subscribers and 1 video. Don't believe me? Go check it out, you'll need to turn off any ad block plug-ins you got to see the ads. I got one 10 secs in the video that pops up and one in the top right hand corner... Come to think of it, I should probably make more videos!

@dirtypassion123 As a partner, I'd say it depends on the videos themselves. I've heard from several sources that there's no set limit, and youtube just looks for the content you upload. So, it's good if nothing is copyrighted, and you already have a head start with views. There's no absolute guarantee you'll be accepted, but it's really up to you to apply and see how it goes.
