On January 6, 2010 several weeks of planning came to fruition in Melbourne's (Vic) Bourke St Mall. The event & location were known to only very few to give the element of surprise.
A handful of professional dancers started to dance then from out of the crowd came about 200 enthusiastic amateurs (the "Flash Mob") and the mall erupted as you can see in this video. It was fantastic. My personal regret is that I could not locate my daughter within the mob but I did capture a lot of joy and I think that is her friend Nick walking along at the very end.
who's the organiser of this? i want to do a similar thing with tap.... did you have to get special permission from the city to do this? :)

.. great .. the flouro jacket sure stands out. The fantastic thing about having it at lunch time was that many participants came in their work gear. It made it much more interesting visually.
