Nice vid! I really liked the "dandelion in the spring" thing at the end too. It reminded me of the part in the book the day after peeta gave Katniss the bread, when she saw him in the school yard and then saw a dandelion and the dandelion gave her hope. Totally made sense to me how Peeta would always give her hope and why she needed him in her life over Gale.

@MicMic18 I think the only reason she voted for the Hunger games for capitol kids was because of her sister. ONLY reason. And I highly doubt they would continue with it after Coin was killed. I think a lot of people knew she was kindof corrupted and power-hungry, and once she was dead and out of power it would be out of question.

I cried when Finnick died. I screamed in the middle of class and everyone thought i was insane. And same with Prim, but i didn't cry, just screamed. My friends don't allow me to read dramatic books in class. Oh well, i still love the books, but i agree with you on basically everything you said <3

@rosesofsunshine3 Ok, I see what you mean by the pointlessness part. I think I was reading the comments and I heard "pointless death" and just assumed that. My mistake. I guess another difference is that I could actually picture the scenes of Peeta and the tracker jacker venom. I would picture the torture scenes from Hostel (gruesome, I know).
Anyways I'm not trying to hit on you or anything (since I am married) but your youtube name does seem to describe your personality

Okay.... My thoughts were just the opposite of what you presented in this video (I'm not saying your wrong, we're on the opposite ends of the spectrum). I don't remember how you compared this to the other two, but I liked this one the least. I thought the war was over-the-top and all over the place; I did not feel like I was in a war at all.
The epilogue was total bailout for Collins. There was no originality. I felt like I was reading Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows epilogue all over again and that one was unoriginal. As for the deaths, I just have to say that they're in a war. People die in wars. Yes we meet some of the characters who got the axe, but that doesn't mean they deserve a dramatic death. Yes it's sad Prim was killed, but medics get killed in war zones. So as I said before, my thoughts are just different than yours.

@53knights Actually, I think I said the exact same thing about the deaths... that war is tragic and that there aren't any expendable people in real life and each person (or in this case, character) is important, whether we are emotionally attached to them or not. Just because someone is heroic and amazing doesn't mean that they are going to pass away in a dramatic way but that doesn't make them any less irreplaceable or their death less sorrowful... and the book reminds us of this.

I didn't like Mockingjay as much as Hunger Games, and Catching Fire. But I completely agree about Gale and his mindset. I really felt disappointed with Katniss when she agreed to those Hunger Games for Capitol kids. What happened with that? Did that actually happen or not after Coin was killed. That strongly hit my heart in realizing how people can become just as evil even after they have been through so much. I was really happy for Katniss and Peeta in the end. But still was upset at Katniss.

@MicMic18 I totally relate to your disappointment with Katniss at that moment...but, maybe I can help you like her again? After I reread that scene a couple times, I concluded that Katniss just said that in order to stop Coin before those morbid plans were re-implemented. If she had said no, Coin would probably have locked her up somewhere. Like this, even the public would wonder why their Mockingjay rose against Coin. Haymitch agreed because he understood Katniss would stop the cycle.

I definitely agree with you about Finnick's death. I felt like after Catching Fire and after all the effort Suzanne Collins made on his character development, that his death was a) totally unnecessary and b) completely passed over. Finnick deserved more than that.

@aukluk Yes... and I still can't tell whether her writing it that way was a stylistic folly or quite brilliant. The abruptness was likely on purpose in order to shock the readers and demonstrate the horrors of war. It definitely made me think about how every character/person is important and that there aren't any "unimportant" casualties. This could also be me reading more into than was intended so it's always interesting to read other people's impressions... RIP, Finnick!
