Competition of the new GM hybrid powertrain vs. the conventional gasoline powertrain
(video 1 of 2). This video is the conventional drivetrain in the next geneartion Silverado. The second video shows the 2008 hybrid Tahoe pulling. It should be noted that the Silverado had 20" wheels with performance tires and that the field was muddy from a rain the day before. This footage will be shown (with better angles) in HD on the new season of "Mean Green Machines" on Discovery Channel.

  • This aired back in April. I just recently saw it on Discovery HD about a month ago.

  • The pull was timed

  • i dont get how this is a real test...if the Deere is in neutral then its really not that hard to pull it...shouldve had the tractor put the brakes on or somethin...but whatev...GO CHEVY AND JOHN DEERE!!!

  • Even if it's free rolling, (like any trailer), it's still extremely hard to pull. Refer to Newton's second law of motion. Fnet=ma. So as you increase the mass of the object, in order to accelerate it at the same rate, you need to apply a larger force.
