You could have put your screws first through the back of the door to line up when re-fitting the new lock due to not being able to see the outer lock on other side!!

get a blow up wedge to put under the door before starting :O) just a tip
nice video, i never leave the key in and turn it to take thenight latch off, no wonder i often have to wiggle it a bit, i will try this next time
