This will be the first of a series of tips on how to play the autoharp. This video is about how I strum my autoharp in different ways. First, and always, tune your autoharp. I did a video on how to do that, so if you're not sure, check that video out before this one. This is not the only way to play an autoharp, merely how I play the autoharp. The sound track is a bit off, so you'll see me press the buttons about one note early, but that's one problem I always have with You Tube. To give you an idea, You press "C" chord when you reach the word "sweet", then "G" when you reach the word "sound" .Hopefully, you'll get something from my videos to improve your playing. Contact me at: bryant@cyberport.net if you're interested in my 54 minute workshop video. Have fun!

  • Please help, what key is the harp you are playing? Can you kindly say what the tab is. Thanks so much for your help.

  • I don't have time to load it right now (I'm on dialup), but it should be in the key of "G". I don't know what you mean by "tab", but it goes: (G) Amazing Grace, how (C) sweet the (G) sound, that saved a wretch like (D7) me...... I (G) once was lost, but (C) now am (G) found, blind, but (D7) now I (G) see. That is the absolute basics. More chords can be added as you go along.

  • I see what you mean, since the track is off. It does make this video confusing. Sorry. You Tube, for some reason, doesn't have any way to adjust it. It's more understandable, if you don't look at the video, just listen to it. My workshop video doesn't have that problem, and these videos just show a sampling of my workshop video. Bill
