This film has just as much plot as the *ahem* modern versions...

The TIME OUT guide to film I have says this is silent....oops

It seems like all the actors are kind of uncomfortable with the new technology, or it wasn't good enough to allow them to speak naturally. They're all acting like they're on a stage, only speaking even more slowly and with less physical "business" than your average stage play, even.

It's the "evil of technology"... Think about it. When sound arrived, the fun was gone... (Search "clara bow lost color", and you'll get a jaw-dropper!)
She's very brave here, I think, but she received no guidance or protection from the studio, and they just let her burn out... Ah, what could have been... But no, the Schulberg regime just saw her as a quick buck, and so they just used her up, and then spit her out... What a shame!... What a doll, though... Love you, CB!!

nice talkie

This was Clara's first talkie, I believe. Considering her inexperience, nervousness and the primitive technical conditions she does a fantastic job!!!

Clara Bow was so good in silent movies. She seems uncomfortable in this, like she's trying too hard, pausing too much and drawing out every line. She was actually alittle better in "Dangerous Curves".I'd love to see "Saturday Night kid"though, and a few others of hers.
Thank You!!!! Clara Bow ROCKS MY WORLD!
