I don't think anyone in any sport, could get the audience as pumped up as Hogan did. Sure some people came close, The rock, Stone cold, but Hogan will go down in history as the best.

@Valentinaz87 yes Hogan was the best, but he wouldn't have made it there if not for Andre agreeing to drop the title to Hogan at Wrestlemania. Andre didn't want to lose (ever) at a huge event. But they were friends, and Andre liked Hogan and liked his gimmick, and Andre knew he couldn't carry on forever. So it was Andre who passed the torch to Hogan, and Hogan who did the same thing here. Only because Hogan knew of Andre's selflessness did he agree to promote the Rock to #1.

@dylanrocks83 Sorry I should clarify that I meant the time period directly after this match. I can't even touch on the Cena issue because I never watched while he was anything significant in wrestling (this was one of the last matches I ever watched).I think he is far more entertaining and would rather see him as champ now that any of the crap in wrestling today. To me, it's a dead issue because wrestling is dead to me.

@greenbayandtottenham "let" Hogan play a "not title contender" role? There is an interview with Hogan out there somewhere where he says he wrestled an undercard role and got paid as such, but he complained to Vince because he said "I gotta a bigger pop than John Cena and I was told people came to see him." Hogan didn't want that role.

To me- This is where wrestling stopped being entertaining. I can actually point to this match and say it was downhill from there. It was just an incredible wrestling match- so much emotion.

They should have kept Hogan in the nWo after (not had hall and nash attack him) and let hogan sort of play an upper-card (but not title contender) role....

@ElTopoHeras Cuz he didnt get a call from WWE.

If a hockdyplayer who is to old for NHL and he aint got a contract, he can still be involved in hockey but in another leauge cuz he loves hockey. Same with Hogan.
