Beware, Blizzard have stated that you will get to lvl60 for a reason ... menaning that a lvl60 will have the perfect possibility of finishing the game if they play it fairly well enough ... I think you´re worried by lots of things , and it´s good you wonder , and think so much , but just know that Blizzard won´t launch a game that is basically "crap", it will be good, and it will be competitive, just like Starcraft 2 is ... the Multiplayer in SC2 is EXCELLENT ! Let´s hope for the best !

PvE will always be easy. always. Unless you make bosses controllable by human players, then it will require absolutely 0 skill.
This is why I will not purchase D3. No skill. PvP = skill.
