I think is more than just about being popular and entertaining. It's about recreating reality according to your value-judgement. For example, someone who loves spiders, might make a movie or draw them in a way that makes them look friendly, while someone who's scared of them might make a horror story about spiders. It doesn't matter if you do it through painting, singing, poetry, a novel, sculpting etc... Just use the tool you're good at using

@SeriousPsyche Each media has it's own limitations and implications. Who gives a damn if painting is "antiquated?" paint has a quality that film doesn't have, and film has a quality that paint doesn't have. New ideas are important in art, but using an older medium doesn't necessarily mean that the ideas you're trying to express in your art are outdated. There's this thing called "contemporary art," you should really check it outtt.

@graffiti0saves What are you talking about? Write a screenplay right now. I'll wait.

I agree with Cenk, painting and canvases are antiquated, just as I think in 50 years at the most, books will be antiquated, everyone will have an iPad or Kindle thing to download texts onto, and I'm sure we will create digital paper that we will use instead of real paper. It's just how culture and technology progresses.

Any one can write a fake story, not any person can draw sonthing as simple as a tennis ball and make it look real, in fact it would be verry hard. So to say artiest art suck in the past is a pretty bold statement. Movies are a series of pictures, not art.

Art is anything one does that is not directly linked to survival or reproduction.

this guy is a fucking idiot george lucas studied and appreciates old form artist and believes technology is just another medium for art.

The degradation can also be defined as a regression back to point time zero: the point of a person's birth. And also the elimination of universally applicable empirical self-consciousness: the knowledge that all of mankind can have in common gathered through their senses. Then "art" became the pinnacle antithesis of what art should be: To simply paint a picture of some "thing" never "seen" before, show "it" to the "child" mind: which had regressed back to point time zero, and watch them react.
Jill's right on this one; Cenks just hating because he finds older forms of art annoying
