"This sublimation of the sex-urge has been the basis of the power of the church and is the source of much of the psychosis rampant in the modern world." - Jack Parsons

ignorance is bliss... there are other similar religions to catholic or christianity. If you decide to be stuck in your own reality and not accepting others, then that is your own choice. We can sit here and recite bible verses all day, or you can accept that there is an infinite number of possibilities in this universe. Our perception governs our own universe.

Enlarged NASA Mt. Montserrat (Spain) photosatellite.
The vision of high peaks (compact in 10 x 5 km.) look like a human face image,... with a signal like 3th eye just in middle of his front where stand a very famous santuary:

Wow. Charles Stansfield Jones. There's another obscure and fascinating figure. With a Canadian connection (I'm a Canuck). Not much written about Jones but I'd sure like to find out more re: the dude. If you have any suggestions for reading on Jones, drop 'em my way.
Sorry if I seem like I'm plugging my novel--there was SO much research devoted to its creation and a great deal of it touched on Parsons, Hubbard, the Babalon Working, etc. Pop by my blog sometime--there's a free excerpt.

@cliffjburns --i'll have to read your novel, sounds like good fun. while im not an occultist, i find this subject & the history of the occult in general fascinating. ive often wondered if hubbard ever met charles stansfield jones up in the northwest just prior to his meeting parsons........
thanks, its been a pleasure.----take care

Majorhoop--clearly you know your stuff and it's a pleasure to run across you in cyberspace. I'm no believer, find the occult and supernatural fairly silly, but, dang, it makes for fascinating reading...and discussion. I read about the Hubbard-Parsons connection in BARE-FACED MESSIAH and it was the scene of the two of them out in the Mojave, trying to raise a demon (of sorts), that inspired my novel (and cost me over 3 years of my life)...
It's been fun chatting with you...

@majorhoop --relatively sane while navigating similar (though not such extreme) waters. wizards parsons-quote comment above sounds like pure wilhelm reich, tho 20 years after him. regardie (a "chiropractic psychiatrist") was pretty thoroughly versed in reich and i think it must have served him well in the long run. parsons on the other hand i suspect only had a passing familiarity with reichs work, and was soon in over his head. l.a. at this time must have been an amazing place.......

@cliffjburns ---i agree with you; the scientology "deliberate sabotage" assertion doesnt sound credible to me either. hubbard i think may have been interested in the occult, or "black magic" in this case, as an instrument or technique for controlling others and parsons was an easy mark to start with. it is interesting to compare hubbard and parsons work in magic with israel regardie, who lived across town at this time and steered clear of this whole thing. regardie seems to have remained (cont)

Majorhoop: I don't think Hubbard was out to deliberate sabotage Parsons and his occult group. Elron was genuinely intrigued by black magic--and the women it drew--and this notion that he infiltrated the Los Angeles occult scene to thwart the minions of evil is Scientology re-writing history. One of the accounts I read said that Hubbard's sanity was never the same after he and Parsons returned from the desert after trying to "raise" an elemental spirit through Parsons' "Babalon Working".

@cliffjburns ---i somewhat agree, though as a scientist i would describe him as an inspired amateur. however i dont think that his importance to the development of our early space program, while limited, should be underestimated. i believe he was certainly a serious occultist who suffered from a certain naivete that rendered him susceptible to the workings (or deliberate sabotage) of scam artist hubbard. the romantic nature of his life and character have turned him into something of a cult hero.

What's to hate about the Jewish, Christian & Muslim god who's a former member of the Sumerian pantheon cooped by a desert tribe on a power trip. Lots of gods speaking from a mountain top back then. If I were a sea people philistine or a Babylonian, I'd hate him too. Or a Greek pagan running a temple for that matter
Hmmm...RAW states that this country(North America) was founded on "libertarian principles".I wonder what Native Americans & Blacks would think of these "principles".
