Uprooting trees does affect the soil in a very negative way, since the roots prevent the rich soil from being washed away. Cutting just the trees and leaving the roots would be the way to go for. But you seem to speak for the industry and thus I would be surprised to hear a good and solid argument from you. no offense.

If this tool is used to uproot trees it is devastating from an ecological point of view and should be forbidden.
