Roommates

This is the final version of my short film, "Roommates." I�m sending this in to the Tisch School of Arts in New York University as an application suplement to get into the film program. The idea behind it was to create something very unpretentious, very simple and dry. Hope you like it, because I spent a lot of time working on this thing.

I was trying really hard to get a story flowing, it´s too bad i didn´t get the "flow" i guess. Where would you tie it together, in order to make a storyline. The original story was based on a bunch of true story skits put together. I tried to tie it up, i guess, with that one scene at the end. I am curious to know more about filmmaking, so I willing to take some criticism. I am planning to go back and do some more films. Hopefully take a course or two onces i graduate.

Did you get accepted to the program? If so what were your grades like, if you don't mind me asking?

I did not get accepted. I had a 3.9 gpa and this short little film. Not sure what I did wrong.

Hopefully I´ll be going to another school in the east coast and then try again in one year.

Idk. It seemed like you were trying a little too hard. I mean, sure the angles and the black & white were cool, but this film seemed so unfamiliar and tough to sit through. it didn't flow. Good effort though. Tisch is a tough admit. I just sent my portfolio out last week.

Wow I can't believe you didn't get in. The film displayed an understanding of storytelling more so in the beginning than the rest of the film. The only explanation I have as to why you might not have gotten would be that the plot was not clear to the admissions office at NYU.
