-Calibrating and adjusting a colour schlieren system using the plume of a gas soldering iron and a large focal length lens for optimum sensitivity and clarity.
-The system is able to detect and visualize the air density gradient coming of bare skin or from the breath.
-The images at the end of the video are Mach 1.3~1.4 shock waves reflecting off a parabolic surface.
-Different colours indicate a different density gradient direction according to the calibration lens.
-Schlieren setup based on a Z-type arrangement
-Film captured in HD using a Nikon D90 & no lens
