IN THIS VIDEO, watch as this Hornet is thrown around the sky in a demonstration over Langley AFB. The demo aircraft is painted up to represent thirty years of Hornets, with the paint job resembling that of the prototype F/A-18A Hornet.

I saw this Hornet at Republic Airport on Long Island a couple of months ago. No idea why it was there, but it was sure cool to see.

our aircraft get fixed on a daily basis. we fix anything from computers to servocylinders that move the flaps and stabilators. we also maintain the integrity of the aircraft. needless to say, if the pilot that flys it that day finds something wrong with it, we fix it. and this jet is not just a show jet. it does fly training missions.

what did they fix on the jet ? i know there have to have maintenance but how offtten is that done ?

yes it does... and when it breaks because it does all that fancy flying...thats a lot of man hours spent fixin it!
