  • NO Suzuki GS550 Survival Fighter Project 14???

    I love seeing the progress...

  • @voidchaos I had to put a hold on the project for a month or two due to financial and time reasons. I really screwed up the front axle so its gonna cost me a lot more than expected. I think im gonna go back with the stock rim. I promise to put more vids up as I progress, it may just take me longer than expected. Thanks for the support.

  • what year is your bike?

  • @MrTestew1

It's a 1983 model. When I first bought it I was unfamiliar with suzukis so I thought it was a GSX. I later learned that the GS was the US version and the GSX was everywhere else.

  • @rossmang actually im pretty sure that gsx and gs are two different models.

  • @diesel5355 I understand it dosent seem right and I wasnt sure at first but I have since attained a copy of the original service manual. It specifically states the GS is the North America name and GSX is for everywhere else. It was explained to me by some avid British Streetfighter fans that the GSX is what its called in their country. Thanks for your input.

  • @rossmang Hi! Did you manage to finish the project?

  • what a fucking lash up !

  • @rossmang from what i understand the GS is an 2 valve and the GSX is a 4 valve per cylinder, however there are some early GS with 4v.p.c. but with bit smaller engine capacity even if both state 1100 cc one has 1074(gs) and 1135(gsx). I think there is the difference in the cylinder head construction with the angle of the valves and combustion chamber. i don't think if it has anything to do with the part of the world where it was sold.. ofcourse i can be wrong, just saying what i think. cheers.

  • @rossmang oh, perhaps Im thinking of the version gs550L. Thanks.

  • oh mines an 81, i was gonna make it a cafe but i think i might keep it stock, and i just got it running its pretty fast in higher rpm's, too bad i'm only 15 and can't drive it on the road legally for another year :(
