  • That's actually a very interesting point ... since there is an advertising tie-in, does the movie scene become a product-placement after-the-fact? Could it be argued that the producers knew full well that there would be a real-world product as they shot the scene?

In fact, could you not argue that the entire film is a kind of "product placement" for the novels?

  • @nirdjha2000 I think that's definitely a valid argument, although the marketing department would probably prefer to call it "cross promotion" or some other terminology.

  • Bertty botts was introduced in the book... it wasn't a real thing till after the movie came out.

  • @ichbinstark If you'll read the other comment and response, you'll realize that I am not only aware of this fact, but that it was also mentioned in my class presentation.

  • the jellybeans were made because of harry potter..so its not technically the same...right?

  • Correct, and I did explain this in the corresponding presentation for class. (:

  • @WubwubDubstep I think it's because it is possible to win enough points so that even if u dont catch the snitch u can still win the game

  • Best Audio quality out!

  • why would you even want every flavour? and don't even get me started on quidditch; why do they even bother with the quaffle if the snitch is worth 150 pts?

  • theyr products alright

  • very nice video quality

  • @TORATechnoNerd I think so. Bertty Botts was invented by J.K. Rowling when she wrote the books. Due to their invention in the books the were sold as Harry Potter merchandise, so it isn't exactly product placement.
