Hello, my name is John Heneska and I am a medical marijuana patient. I am 28 years old and have been a patient for about 12 years. I suffer from epilepsy as well as depression, and anxiety. I've been on several pharmaceutical pills anywhere from depocote to topomax to Dylan tin as well as several medications for my asthma. And for the last few years I have been a medical marijuana patient, and medical marijuana has helped me with my epilepsy quite a lot as well as my depression compared to the pharmaceutical medications. When I took pharmaceutical medications, the doctor kept increasing my dosage and switching me to different pills. A lot of the pills had side effects on me. Anywhere from causing me to have more seizures to black out, and anywhere from suffering concussions from taking medications. And the medical marijuana has helped prevent seizures. I have anywhere 1 to 4 seizures a month compared to on a daily basis. However, at times the medical marijuana does not always help with my epilepsy. And from there you have to try other things that do. Edibles, to a different form of the medication. But overall it has helped a lot. I still have a good stomach, I haven't had stomach problems and my attacks have been less over the years. I've been hospitalized less for my seizures. But at times like I said, sometimes it really bothers me and I can't do too much, and then there's time that I smoke that joint and it really helps ease the pain.

  • WELL JOHN YOUR NOT BY YOURSELF WE ARE OUT HERE AND I HOPE YOU CAN FIND THE WAY TO CONTROL THE SIZURES. I HAVE THEM TOO IT JUST STARTED LAST YEAR WITH NO EXPLANATION . I HATE THIS SHIT BUT IM OUT HERE PRAYING FOR YOU

  • @copenhagenlct Just a heads up. Inhaling any burnt plant particulates over a long period of time will be bad for you but you don't have to smoke it. You can Vaporize, you can make edibles and they even have under the tongue droplets. Think of this: When have you ever heard of someone dying from marijuana abuse? How many people a year die from prescription drugs or alcohol? Open your mind a bit and educate yourself. BTW, I made cupcakes the other day and they were amazing.

  • i also have epilepsy, and depression i also have AVP. i still have to take my seizure meds as THC seemed to have no effect (in my case) on preventing seizures. but I cannot take any MAOI's or SSRI's to help me with my anxiety and depression as these medications promote seizures. but marijuana helps tremendously with my anxiety and depression and does not promote seizures.

  • in the treatment of this which usually happends to 12-13yr olds but smoking marijuana since the age of 13 my neurologist told me it had saved my life and prolonged the rupture.i can truly say i didnt nor still dont abuse marijuana and along with dilantin i havnt had a seizure in a year since 2 years after my surgeries and blackouts arnt as common when i smoke marijuana i still feel the blackouts but along with breathing techniques they go away m

  • At the age of 18 out of nowhere i started getting bad bad headaches later grand mal seizures got it checked out b4 almost dying from being born with a fluid filled sist behind the left frontal lobe of my brain. When the sist ruptured the blood vessel connected to it bled out.a day later brain surgery.had a shunt in my head to more or less filter my spinal fluid 3 months later after having another seizure had to have another surgery to get the sist wall removed from my brain which isnt common

  • @FllthPig Nicotine, Caffeine, Cocaine, they are additive because they have physical factors if you dont have it in your bloodstream. Cannabis does not have physical addiction factors, trust me iv had my phases, and still do it time to time. And you dont have withdraws from it, just lack of sleep sometimes.

  • @blueflamestudios Well i'm certain I was smoking it at the time, and how can you say it's not addictive I know people who couldn't go two days without smoking the stuff and the doctors told me it can be a trigger for seizures not because of the abuse of it

  • @FllthPig "I had been smoking it all the time from I was 12 till 17 but it cause me to have 2 seizures" That sounds like abuse to me, anything you abuse can have a negative effect, even to much water can kill you. Thats different than doing it when you have a medical condition, plus you dont even know if you smoked cannibis or not you said you were almost certain. Recreational use is ok in moderation, and cannibis is not addictive, it doesnt have physical factors.

  • @creamofcrop55 It could but everyone is different.Im 20 yrs old and after about 3-4 weeks of smoking it through a vaporizer every night I noticed that all my anxiety went away and was worry free like a child. The first couple of times or the first week of using it I did however feel more anxious and paranoid but your body starts to get used to it and soon enough you start to feel calm and relaxed...Try Indica strains. Btw the pot I got was from a friend so mine wasn't medical

  • @FllthPig yea it is addictive...but guess what caffeine wwas proven to be more of an addiction
