Michael Shermer (*1954 in Glendale, California) is an American science writer, historian of science, founder of The Skeptics Society, and Editor in Chief of its magazine Skeptic, which is largely devoted to investigating and debunking pseudoscientific and supernatural claims.

Shermer is also the producer and co-host of the television series "Exploring the Unknown". Since April 2004, he has been a monthly columnist for Scientific American magazine with his Skeptic column. Once a fundamentalist Christian, Shermer now describes himself as an agnostic nontheist and an advocate for humanist philosophy.

sun was not created on the first day. Review your bible it was on the 4th day together with moon and stars. How could have light in the begining when they were created only on the 4th day? It shows thay the bible is just a man made book.

@pbrskater26 Creationists claim that there was no death in the world before Eve ate the apple. What anatomy did the original created animals e.g scorpions, crocodile, cheetah, lion, killer whale, spider,have? The present anatomy of carnivores is intrinsically adapted to catching, killing & eating other animals. Did satan wave a magic wand and change the animals overnight from herbivores into the present day form? Will lions & kestrels go to hades for eating other animals?

@CupcakeAuslyn ...that's precisely what the problem is, you have to die first in order to enter the afterlife. When you're dead, you are finished, and there's no finding out about Heaven, Hell or Paradise - you're a dead meat and you begin to rot, just like other dead animals. Its a con-trick to fool you and I that we die first and then enter another life after that. Why not have the choice while you're living? Of course, they don't want you to find out, it was all bullshit !!

So, God was some kind of magicman waving his hands about and things began to take shape. Now, if you believe that, then you're a bigger fool than god himself. Just imagine that, he created Earth and everything around it in just six days. Presumably the witness to all these was the author of Genesis itself. But who created him and when ???
