McKell: Im going with---- ------ Chad!
Chad Danforth: Me?
Taylor: No you dimwit, she meant-
Chad: Me?
McKell: Chad, do you want to go with me to the girls choice?
Chad: uh, well, uh, i-
He kept looking at Joe nervously who was shooting glares his way.
McKell: Chad?
Chad: yeah Ill go.
I smiled. Stacey glared at me.
McKell: What? You finally get a date with Joe, isnt that what you want? Shouldnt you be happy?
Stacey: oh I am.
We glared at each other.
McKell: well this has been fun, ok that was a lie, this has not been fun. Im just going to leave.
Joe stood up after I did but I ignored him and started walking away.
Joe: McKell!
I just ignored him feeling the lump in the back of my throat, I would not let him see me cry. Not this time.
Joe: McKell!
He didnt sound too happy either. I just continued walking away. I would walk home if I had to, but I am not facing Joe. But he had other plans. He caught up to me and spun me around.
Joe: How the hell could you go to the dance with Chad?
McKell: Hmm the same reason you didnt say no to Stacey.
Joe just looked at the ground. I just rolled my eyes.
McKell: So, you cant tell me who I can and cant go with, because yes I was going to ask you, but obviously Stacey got to it first, and you didnt exactly say no, so Im not going to miss out on the dance because my BOYFRIEND didnt want me to go with anyone but him when he already had another date.
Joe: Whatever. This is stupid.
McKell: Yeah it is stupid.
Joe: Maybe Ill talk to you tomorrow.
McKell: probably not.
Joe: Fine.
McKell: Good.
I started walking away when I heard Troy yell my name. Him and Gabby were getting In his car and I went and got in it too.
Troy: you ok?
McKell: no.
Troy: Maybe Joe is-
McKell: are you taking his side?
Troy: well I dont think he did anything wrong?
Gabby: Oh you dont?
Troy: No not entirely. Usually you go with the girl that asks first.
Gabby: So if Regina asked you before me, would you go with her?
Troy: Well, I might.
Gabby: Oh really?
McKell: boys are so stupid.
Gabby: You got that right.
Troy: oh come on Gabriella.
Gabby: Dont Gabriella me. McKell, Call Keisha, Macey, Miley, Lilly, Alex, and Harper, Girls night at my house.
Troy: Gabb-
McKell: Drop us of at home and Ill drive us to Gabbys.
Troy sighed and pulled into our driveway. I got to my room and packed a bag. Good thing its Friday, I couldnt face Joe at school. Me and Gabriella headed to my car and picked up everyone that didnt have a ride. We got to Gabriellas house and we waited for everyone else outside. Soon everyone but Keisha was there. We saw a familiar shiny black car drive up. Keisha got out of the car and Chad followed suit.
Keisha: I think you need to talk to him.
McKell: Why?
Keisha: Because you didnt really get a chance to talk to him after you asked him to the dance.
McKell: True. Tell everyone Ill be in soon.
She nodded. Chad was leaning against his car and I went over to him.
Chad: So about earlier-
McKell: Im sorry, I shouldnt have dragged you into this, and Im sure you would much rather go with a different girl than me and-
Chad: No, Im glad its you, youre the only one that isnt using me because Im Chad Dylan Cooper the T.V. star, no you use me because Im Chad Dylan Cooper the guy youre boyfriend hates.
McKell: Im so sorry, but I think the only other person besides Joe, who right now I dont want to go with, is you. Youre my friend, and Kevin and Nick are like brothers so that would be weird, and just a lot of the other guys are just brothers to me, and you havent quite reached that status yet-
Chad: Are you saying there is a chance that you could like me as more than a friend?
McKell: What? No. I- I-I-
Chad: Ok- Ok, forget that question, but dont worry, Im not mad. Ill be happy to go to the dance with you.
McKell: Thank you.
I went over to him and gave him a kiss on the cheek. It was warm and soft, and I got a few butterflies in my stomach. Oh crap, whats going on? I pulled away and stumbled back a bit.
Chad: are you ok?
McKell: Dandy, fine, amazing, Ive gotta go.
He came in to hug me but I stuck my hand out instead. He looked at it wierdly but shook it anyways.
Chad: Bye?
Mckell: Bye.
I ran into the house and everyone was anxiously waiting for me in the kitchen.
