Time Lapse movie of travelling on the M62. Created from 980 shots taken with a Ricoh R6 using 5sec intervals. I travelled from the Leeds city centre 5.30pm on a Friday out westbound on the M62 to the summit at Saddleworth Moor and then back again. Journey took approx 1 hour. The camera was mounted on a tripod in the passenger seat.
Images compiled to a movie with Virtualdub, and then Credits added with MovieMaker. MP3Directcut was used to create audio of right length and virtualdub used to mux the video & audio.

The audio is Autobahn by Kraftwerk

  • increase the res.

  • @shinobiung This was added in 2007 when youtube did not have hires, and whatever you uploaded was reencoded to a small res.

  • Well done and your info on how to achieve it helps.I know the M62 only too well and I recognise every frame.. I considered something similar on a drive from Rotterdam to Warsaw. I feel that would take a hell of a few shots and maybe a longer delay. Plus a whole Kraftwerk album!!

  • Well I did 1 frame every 5 seconds. If you did the same with 30fps you get 2.5 min = 1 sec. With Youtube allowing 10min videos that's 25 hours real time. Your 1,250KM should only take about 13hrs. If you ever do try let me know.

  • love it mate. you in tv?

  • Cool

  • nice

  • so many bloody pics lol

  • k, sorry, I found it out by myself. :)

  • hi,

how did you compile the pictures into a movie? I can't find the function in virtual dub and google doesn't give me any answers!

  • Is there a setting in your camera that allows the 5sec interval? I have a Canon, and am limited to taking pictures when the camera is connected to my computer.

  • Thanks again. Optimistic on the journey time though!I usually reach Poznan in 12Hrs. Then to Warsaw it's any ones guess. Weather.Traffic Et:c. Poznan to Tallinn in 12 is my best. Part 2 of a Video? Pre Eu About 12 Hrs at each border!!
