MSA M17A2 Respirator

This is my M17A2 gas mask I have all what is shown but also a Chemical hood and a set of laser lenses that will be shown in another video.

I have the one with that hood. Can the hood be taken off and put back on? Just wondering

Yeah, it's actually very easy. Others say that it's hard to do but it actually isn't if you know what you're doing.

does this mask still work or is it outdated. i ask because i know the m10 gasmask doesnt work and they look simular

Well the M10 would have been made when the M17 was first introduced because the Czech Republic thought it was a good design. I don't know what they thought of it because there is too much dead space inside the mask when you wear it. And yes, it is WAY outdated by about 10-20 years it was repleced by the M40 series mask and now the Avon M50 which is the current mask used by the US military. MSA doesn't even produce the "pork chop" filters anymore come to think about it.

hey how do i use the drinking straw?

You have to have the proper canteen adapter first of all or else you can't use it. If you can manage to find a adapter you push it onto the straw then use the nob to move the straw into your mouth then I guess you flip the canteen upside down and then drink.

Where do you buy the M17's? I live in the UK And i cant find them on Ebay only the Czech ones.

Ebay, Bells Aviation, surplus stores, you just have to look. I'd sugest ebay though.
