Halstead Jazz Club Big Band - 24 Jan 2010 - Samba Del Gringo, Gordon Goodwin

2 or 3 times a year halstead jazz club puts on a big band concert with musician friends and colleagues. It is always an entertaining event and the band plays a diverse range of music. The band has never rehearsed (some might say we should), not because we disrespect the music or don't think that we need to, but because the musicians are all professionals and do the concert for very little money. We can't ask them to rehearse for free and we would never be able to coordinate all of those diaries to get the same line up for the rehearsal as the gig anyway. Consequently everyone is sight reading the music, which adds to the excitement and chaos, all of which our audience seem to enjoy. Great sounding band, but given that your not in high school anymore, it could be tighter and the articulations sound as though they could be detailed better.
