This was the 12th race of the 2009 Formula 1 Season. Giancarlo Fisichella schocked F1, when he took the pole, first time for Force India, and fourth time for himself. But he couldn't do anything with Kimi Raikkönen, who won the race with the help of the KERS system. Sebastian Vettel, having a good strategy, finished 3rd. BMW-Saubers had better race than the team had expected, Kubica and Heidfeld both had a good race by finishing 4th and 5th. At the beginning of the race, the reigning worldchampion Lewis Hamilton, the championship-leader Jenson Button, and the 2 rookies, Jaime Alguersuari and Romain Grosjean were involved in an accident all of them gave up the race.
