Okay then.
To answer your other question, I like a lot of Miles Davis' Albums, but he probably wouldn't be my first pick amongst jazz for "genius". A lot of what makes his albums great are his collaborators which makes it more difficult to discern.
Not even Dylan's fans will defend him on purely musical grounds, and I really haven't listened to enough of Tom Waits to comment.

What a mind blowing experience.
Can someone comment on the Conductor and Orchestra please. There is no mention above.

Perhaps you should have started the discussion in the same spirit instead of being a smart ass. Now, I'm not interested in a protracted debate about the merits of The Beatles' music. There is a multitude of books and papers on the the specific qualities they brought to music and songwriting in their chosen idiom: popular music. I made no claim that Paul McCartney was the equal of Wagner as a composer, I asserted that in his area he perhaps deserves the title 'genius'.

How about rather than the typical exchange of insults like the rest of the internet, we actually discuss the topic at hand?
If you have any knowledge of composition as you have implicitly claimed, you should be able to explain why the songs of Paul McCartney are a work of genius in compositional terms.
Even if I don't agree with you, I would at least respect that you tried to substantiate your arguments with more than personal attacks.

No, that just means you know nothing about composition. Moreover, my list also included Miles Davis and Tom Waits - but you didn't read that far, did you?

Oh they are every where, you just ignore them. Japan and China have allot of very good composer etc just examples, there are many more people. You should do some research, many good modern composers

Or maybe I know it doesn't take a genius to play three damn chords.
