Hate to burst your bubble but Alice Cooper and Arthur Brown were wearing corpse paint in the 60s before KISS had even formed. Some of the biggest criticism towards Lordi is that they flat out deny knowledge of GWAR's existence when asked about their costumes. GWAR was around since 1984 and Lordi since 1996. You can't tell me Lordi was ignorant to GWAR's existence for 12 years. Quite frankly, if 20 bands want to don costumes, it should be flattering to GWAR. And by all accounts GWAR doesn't care.

Will people stop fucking comparing GWAR and Lordi?! The only similarity is the costumes, and thats where it ends! It's like comparing Slipknot and Hollywood Undead because they both wear masks. Their themes are totally different, their music is totally different, even their costumes are totally different! GWAR's costumes are mostly headmasks, boots, loincloths and bodypaint, while Lordi have full suits.
