the macbook air only has 2GB built in so you cant upgrade.
Reasons why MacBook Air sucks:

No DVD/CD Drive
1800$ too expensive for its specs
Cant change battery
Only 1 USB
Only 80GB hard drive, upgradable to 64GB SSD for extra 999$!
1.6GHz Core 2 Duo, this 600$ laptop i got here has 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo
No Ethernet
No FireWire (What the heck is FireWire?)
2GB ram

people seem to slate this computer so bad, everyoje moaning about ethernet and firewire and stuff, i mave an imac and i really need a second computer to go to college with, it would be perfect.

apple knew from the start this isnt aimed at everybody, although a 12" screen would have been better.

If you can afford it, go ahead, but remember that you will be outdated fast... esp with those low specs.

Also, I don't think you are exactly Apple's market for MBA... I think you should get an MBP..

I'm just curious as to what would be the advantage of having a smaller inch screen than what MBA has right now? Besides, the MBA offers a full-size keyboard which all other PC sub-notebooks don't have and that's a very important factor.

it's called a mbp. the mba is not for you if you still use all those 90s things.

Mac emphasized thin over small. All they have to do is create another one the size of the asus eee pc, without the speakers and a wider screen, 9, 10 inches wide and that thing would sell. And be PORTABLE AND USABLE. It must be under 1000 dollars. I'm a linux person, by the way.
