  • I'm 47, and it takes quite a lot to get me emotional. Anyway,I've just watched all 6 original episodes, buliding up to this grand ending....I'm sitting here in tears!!

I always thought Oliver's work had a very thoughtful almost etherial-spiritual feel to it, but never more-so than with Ivor. I thought this about the colour episodes, but when I saw these original 6....WOW! You know what,... Dylan Thomas would have been proud! ...God Bless you Oliver!

  • The ending... unforgettable. Absoulotely beautiful.

  • @blaster2012 Ivor IS very child like isn;t he? that was how smallfilms wanted him.

  • I've only just now discovered this little story here. Simply beautiful.

  • I am ever searching for gentle examples of fellows this truly fine stories and tellings of this little engines' community is a favourite of ours (Eli is two and a half).

I am so very grateful to have found these videos. I am so glad you posted them. Thank you!

  • A wonderful story told over the space of six weeks that teaches children that you can't always have what you want, when you want it,but in the end it will be well worth the wait. A valuable lesson, especially in todays 'i want it now' society.

  • Anyone can achieve a dream. Even a wee steam engine!!

lol my mum and dad had a video of these and a few colour ones when i was 12 or so and forgot about it. Until i got a text off dad saying he got a dvd with new episodes so iyoutubed it and what a nice find. Shame my childhood memory of this is my mum crying at the end but hey its a nice story. Thanks for uploading :)

  • I have only just discovered this original series. It's absolutely fantastic. The emotion of it all culminating in this episode. Goosebumps by the end. This has to be the greatest children's program ever.

  • I have to admit that in seeing the last part for the first time - it brought tears to my eyes - as I sang along

As a 38yr old (rather Cynical "Young Fogey") that is quite an admission

It's so sad that non - conformism has been hijacked by Happy - clappy cretins and Wales is "land of Benefits & Jobs for the Boyo's " instead of "Land of Song"

  • Wonderful - the Real Wales - Of Strict Temperance and Hymn Singing - why can't it be like this to - day
