@SilentSRI, Shaw isn't the greatest playwright since Shakespeare- not even in English (I prefer Oscar Wilde's "The Importance of Being Earnest" over any of Shaw's plays on the basis of sheer artistry). That title belongs to Anton Chekhov.

@garyrobins123 So I need to clarify: greatest playwright since Shakespeare IN BRITAIN. That's an accepted British evaluation of his work and exactly why at one point they tried so hard to conceal the truth about his particular views on society and the state.

This is what happens when people who believe in the doctrine of philosophy and the dialectic method are allowed to run amuck. The same thread runs through all peoples who believe in the doctrine of philosophy in one form or another. Whether it be Hegel, or Marx &Engels or Lenin or Hitler ... etc. Shaw was an self indulged, arrogant, pompous, man who held himself in high esteem and wisdom above all other men. He sat himself as judge over all men, choosing who should live and who should die.
