Magic Mountain 2006 Summer "Celebrate" Parade

As part of Six Flags' 45th anniversary celebration, Magic Mountain presented "Celebrate! - 45th Anniversary Parade" as part of their summer festivities.
It's a nice attempt and was better than I expected. Interestingly, it has several similarities with the "Block Party Bash" street show that had recently debuted at Disney's California Adventure.

While I obviously posted this thing as a joke, I think it's really great that they're trying to make it more family-friendly and have characters and entertainment out in the park. Seriously, I think I got more pictures with characters at Magic Mountain that day than in a whole day at Disneyland!

Just seems kinda funny seeing several Block Party Bash elements recreated here. Obviously the song, the 'bright' loose costume for the performers, the acrobatics, the jump ropes, the jump-stilts, the trampoline, the people hanging off parts of a float, the gold ribbons...

Not to 'bash' (no pun intended) anything here, but this "Celebrate" parade just seems a bit awkward to a BPB fan, or anyone familiar with the parade.

It's still OK in itself, I suppose...

Loved the Teen Titans on the 1st float(too bad no Starfire though),Live-Action Granny,the Inflatable Gossamer float,and the Instant-Martians dancing around Marvin(surprised to see that they have walk-around suits for them).

well i like all theme parks so i dont want to pick sides so ill just go liek this

this does sorta look like a blok aprty bash remake but i did see some dancers stand out

disney isnt really a competetor if you ask me i think its just more kid friendly wich makes it get more business such as Six falgs and universal studios are more for 13+ and disney is for all ages

but in all this parade wasnt to bad

Why are ALL of the characters different looking than the ones at Six Flags Great America? Wtf? They're completly different. And this parade isn't that great. Go see a Great America parade. It's amazing. AND WHY DO THEY GET VILLIANS FOR THE JUSTICE LEAGUE? Ugggghh, I wish we had villians! [I work as a character in Great America, and the Justice League boys are my best friends]

The Problem with this being the big "Anniversary" Parade is that it's basically the same as the parade always is. We just went on 4th of July still the same over in about 5 minutes too

Okay so if you compare it to Disney and Block Party Bash, then yeah, some would say it is ghetto. Disney is in a league of their own. But in saying that... you have to applaud Six Flags for trying to turn their parks around and going towards the "family fun" atmosphere again! And despite what others are saying, I did see a few really good dancers who stand out. The Mexican Hat and ribbon dancers we're quite good. So in all... Keep up the good work Six Flags and staff!

jus wanted to say that i dance in the block part bash parade and no our choreagraphers arent who u may think they r..... they r previous dancers of our past parades..... as long as yall had fun KEEP DOIN YA THANG!!!!! dont want it to seem like there is any competition between the 2 parks..... so yea
