WOW! Doc Hudson in action!

Amazing how the banking and the apron are used to equal effectiveness. The track was remeasured to reflect the banking after this race.
Joe Weatherly made his first start here. Fonty Flock won by 1 lap. The race took 6 hours, 42 minutes, 37 seconds to complete. I'm pretty sure that does not include the red flag for rain.

If a tire went down, you'd probably find yourself flying through the guardrail.

Great stuff. Whoever filmed this had a lot of nerve, with those cars whizzing by that low arco guardrail and that flimsy looking catch-fence!
