  • WoW !

  • Great stuff. Whoever filmed this had a lot of nerve, with those cars whizzing by that low arco guardrail and that flimsy looking catch-fence!

  • WOW! Doc Hudson in action!

  • Amazing how the banking and the apron are used to equal effectiveness. The track was remeasured to reflect the banking after this race.

Joe Weatherly made his first start here. Fonty Flock won by 1 lap. The race took 6 hours, 42 minutes, 37 seconds to complete. I'm pretty sure that does not include the red flag for rain.

  • now i wanna time travel..............

  • If a tire went down, you'd probably find yourself flying through the guardrail.

  • i know!!! wat if a tire goes down!!! errrrrrrrt...... BOOM!!!

  • lol I love the way some drivers try to go low.. really low around turns 1 and 2

  • ah yes when you could work on cars with little machinery, & life was so simple

  • Wow, no wall between the pits and the track. Now that is crazy.

  • my dad was in the infield :DDD

  • reading these posts and watching the footage brings a tear to my eye. I really wish America could be like this again.
