PM Stephen Harper Visits Fanshawe College, London, Ontario - Anne Marie DeCicco-Best

Prime Minister Stephen Harper met at Fanshawe College with representatives of the federal and local municipal government, Fanshawe College and local media to provide an update on the latest federal initiatives to combat escalating unemployment figures.

It was Harpers first trip to London since winning the federal election in October of last year. He was joined by Fanshawe College President Dr. Howard Rundle, MP Diane Finley, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, London Mayor Anne Marie de Cicco-Best and Fanshawe students in design technology and architecture.

Speaking in both French and English, the Prime Minister highlighted the recent federally supported Transition Fund. "I think these dollars came out at just the right time to start assist people. We've always had labour market raises in place with the provinces to protect people. The fund was set up to help anyone who does not qualify for employment insurance in the close to sixty areas in Canada where citizens can pay into and collect from the fund for up to 26 weeks.

Harper said the initiative will allow 50,000 additional people who might previously have been ineligible to receive Employment Insurance benefits to take advantage of training money and to upgrade their skills before re-entering the workforce. He specifically noted that it would help those who had dropped out of high school and taken jobs.

Screw you Harper. No one in Fanshawe is voting for you. Besides, Irene Mathyssen does 100% a better job than what Diane Finley does for her riding. Let the citizens of Fanshawe be.

Red Liberal Mayor Anne Marie should have campaigned to make London a 100% Conservative city ... instead of electing a Liberal and a Dipper ... come the next election if she wants any benefits for London.

If the Mayor wants London to win over Toronto and Hamilton, she should deliver votes to the Conservatives in the next election most likely this summer ... of course she would have to get rid of her red wardrobe too..!!!
