Celebrate the Freedom to Read!

Using a short video of some books my daughter has read over the past few years (now in the "donate" section of my dining room), I cobbled this little video together... because I'm an American and I CAN!!! The First Amendment is what makes us FREE.

Among the kid's castoffs are several books and authors that have made the American Library Association's "Challenged" list, and I couldn't be more proud.

"First Amendment freedoms are most in danger when the government seeks to control thought or to justify its laws for that impermissible end. The right to think is the beginning of freedom, and speech must be protected from the government because speech is the beginning of thought."—Supreme Court Justice Anthony M. Kennedy, Ashcroft V. Free Speech Coalition (00-795) 198 F.3d 1083, affirmed.
