I have no idea if Steve Rothery is the most technically gifted guitar player of all time . All I can say is if I had to choose my 20 favourite pieces of music ever , each and every one of them would feature a Rothery solo. The man is a genius .

between steve rothery,alex lifeson and dave gilmour they are my all time favourite guitar players.their playing can send you to a better more beautiful place, if you feel down.i have been lucky to stand right in front of steve at a marillion gig and he made it look effortless.but then the best guitarists always do.i think he is my favourite player.thanks steve for the ethereal guitar sounds that you make.

Since 1987 I have been worshipping at Rothery's feet, literally with my hands bowing on the stage just in front of him (got several guitar picks for my efforts, lol) at many concerts over the years and in different cities. He makes guitars cry and move you in ways that can't be described. The only problem is that eventually his solos end, always too soon no matter how long they are.

Steve I'm 22 stone - you're an amazing guitarist - I'm unemployed at the moment - I can possibly do lyrics - lets diet and suss things out - I am over 50 - sort of know how the world works - and not looking for money.
Love the other guys as well in case this doesn't work!

I want a DUO with Rothery & Gilmour.. THAT would be out of this world! The tone man on this clip, the phrasing! Damn!!!!!! More Rothery please and a SOLO album!! :)

true. I dont know if he is just tired of aproaching the guitar with the same melodic and soulfull feling, as he has been doing for most of his life, and wants to do something different.. .
if so, i hope he at least doesnt stop playing like this once in a while
