Holland's support of the musical arts and particularly the Metropole Orchestra has been enlightened and an inspiration to the entire world. What a tragedy it would be to loose this marvelous achievement to the shortsighted politicians who cannot connect this national treasure to votes and campaign contributions. I believe my own country, the US, is already in a nosedive to cultural mediocrity and had hoped that Holland could inspire us to do better. This is very sad for all of us. Jluppert, USA

it happened before when, in 2005, the Radio Netherlands Symphony Orchestra was disbanded.... It seems the new Duch government smokes bad weed..

I'm sure many of the people who enjoy classical music concerts by the Dutch Radio Phil. Orchestra also voted Wilders' party. He said he was going to get 1.000 € millions for Third Age people as social aids cutting down funds to the National Radio and TV, so here is the result. Music is not only a left-parties hobby, and here is the paradox.They voted for the same parties that's going to close down the Dutch orchestras..

A tremendous shame and really important shock in the european culture....
