  • you psychology teacher brainwashed you... you think your to intellectual for your own good... your intellect has actually made you dumber... i.e. What is a shoe?

  • @Mruiz201 You are thinking Philosophy not psychology. The more we know about the brain in neuroscience the more we realize how little free will we have. Its how magicians and con artists can trick our minds using our own good nature and other natural biases and reaction. Luckily the number of con artists out there only make up about 5% or our society would be in shambles.

  • The gov has done a WONDERFUL job protecting us from drugs. Between throwing millions of people in prison, destroying neighborhoods, bankrupting state and local governments. over-burdening the court system leading to a 85% plea rate. loss of civil liberties, financial conflicts of interest by courts and law enforcement and all the other things, drugs are more abundant, cheaper and of higher potency. There is the government.

  • @christo930 How is raising taxes and forcing companies to show information a problem? I think people should have the right to put whatever they want in their body, so long as they are fully informed and educated first, like in the Netherlands. I am a social libertarian, but it is the duty of the government to ensure that they are informed of what they are getting themselves into, especially since the salesmen hold the propaganda and psychological manipulation. Addiction is powerful

  • It should be written on the stone, once and for all. Freedom requires responsibility, and responsibility requires information.

  • TV marketing medication on TV is my peeve, there ought to be laws about that, I don't fall for it but I do know someone that does!! There's too much medication for everyone, people take it even if they don't really need it, they want quick fixes with pills - everything else in the video - my sentiments exactly!! If this is an essay, I'll mark it 98% -2 point for talking too fast, I know time is important... :)

  • We need to have a discussion my friend

  • @Mruiz201 What's with the non-sequitur about the shoe? Are you trying to imply that getting a college education somehow makes it impossible to know what a shoe is? Like knowledge is a finite thing, and if you start learning too many things, you have to forget more basic things? Like if you pursue a degree in astrophysics, you'll forget how to walk?

  • @Mruiz201 It is anti-intellectualism that makes people dumber. There is no such thing as being "too smart for your own good," it's a line that the elites like to use to placate the poor and make them feel better about having been denied an education.

  • @Lovingdoubt It's sad that your HEALTH is not your first priority in life. There is no try. There is only do or do not.

  • i'm not the only one who for (well - 3 months?) liked Ron Paul. oh well...

his son gives me nightmares on the other hand

  • I'm a libertarian. Though I think that you have a right to know what's in the products you buy, as you are buying it and its becoming yours. I don't see the two as being incompatable. You mention Fox/Tea Party at the beginning, those are just republicans who talk freedom. Freedom is an abstract concept not possible. Liberty on the other hand, is real, and is conflated with freedom, but the 2 arent exactly the same.

  • Liberty means a lot to me, which is why---for instance---I give money to the ACLU. But I hope that more and more atheists will figure out the flaws in the philosophies of Ayn Rand and the LIbertarianism she spawned. As an atheist, I especially hate to see other atheists effing up the world.

Ayn Rand famously wore a diamond brooch shaped like a dollar sign. In that fashion-statement, I think she expressed herself eloquently regarding the "god" in her life. Atheists can do better than that.

  • I love the part of this video that says less educated people vote Republican. I guess Rush Limbaugh is wasting his time and he is about irresponsible as they come.
