Hi jason, I would like to compare the Eastern College program with the one you took at New England. Does your program teach the speech targets 75% gentle onset/vibrational contour and 25 % stretched syallbe/definite completion of final articulatory position to neutral?

What you just said in your reply helps a severe terrible stutterer speak right..at least for me what you just said is absolutely right.

@happy7117 you don't live on the East Coast as I do where people constantly talk over each over and interrupt and use the other person talking and what they are saying as a jumping off point to say something, The waiter or waitress would finish what he is saying because after two or three words they would know what he wanted and say it themselves, not to be rude, but to show they are listening and know what he wants. It is obvious to anyone who does not stutter that HE TALKS VERY SLOWLY....

Stuttering is a blessing because it does not interfere with his daily efforts to speak because he is a mild stutterer. He would not trade his stuttering for fluent speech because his stuttering is already pretty mild thus it is very clear to others and himself. No need to want fluent speech when a person has very little stuttering to warrant immediate change.
Stuttering is a blessing for you because you are very very fluent, and that is very commendable.
If you stuttererd a ton, I bet you would not be feeling that stuttering is a blessing. To those that stutter very badly, stuttering is very cruel.
If you stuttered terribly, you would trade the problem for fluent speech.
But a stutterer who is very fluent or who stutterers mildly has every right to feel that stuttering is a blessing because to them it does NOT destroy their daily life.

@happy7117
I actually had trouble saying a single word not too long ago. I stuttered very severely and have stuttered for years. I felt it was destroying my daily life and I couldn't focus on anything else. I still though, as I mentioned in the video, consider it a blessing (speaking only for myself, not in any general way) because the challenge and hardship that I still struggle with deepens me as a person and is the reason I feel very in touch with and connected to my speech.
