This is a demo of my musical keyboard invention, the samchillian tip tip tip cheeepeeeee. This keyboard is based on interval changes of pitch, rather than fixed pitches, as on a traditional keyboard. This system allows for very quick and unusual melodic improvisations. The video goes through the various features. You can download a software version for the keyboard at my website - see below. NOTE: the video seems to indicate a vibrato function obtained by moving the finger side to side on the key. In fact this is not a feature currently available, but one i hope to include shortly.

  • Really don't think you do yourself any favours with the beginning of the video, or the name of the product/idea... I nearly thought you were a total asshole!! BUT.... glad I stuck with it!

It's *brilliant* - certainly for improvisation, anyway. Love the relative nature of the concept, which enables quite different ways of thinking.

What's your experience with people who *don't* play keyboard already and just want to pick out a tune? I notice that even your own attempts at tunes are uneven!

  • thanks for your comments.

re picking out tunes, yes you are right: i stumble a bit playing the melodies in the video. well a bit more practice would have fixed that, i'm sure.

as w anything else, familiarity helps. made that video a long time ago, and by now i'm sure it's easier for me to pick out tunes. i would even say that not knowing a standard keyboard means not having to unlearn anything

email me at leon.gruenbaum at gmail.com if you have more questions or to order the software

  • Thanks - happy to explain polyphony. Feel free to contact me via email listed in video at the end

  • The keyboard looks like you modded a Maltron ergonomic keyboard.

Always wanted to get my hands on one of those.

  • not a maltron, but a kinesis keyboard. they're great - tell them i sent ya!

  • ok im doing a report plz message me ASAP when this was invented im going crazy no site says it wat the heck that is very important! sry if it said it but i was in a hurry

  • go to my samchillian dot com website and send me an email, please so we can discuss this

  • @GrandConcertina i doubt that. it's so easy for an idea (no matter how good it is) to fall into oblivion.

  • you are a god

  • Wow, awesome! Still don't quite understand how you break out of monophonicity, but obviously it's in there. I'm definitely going to follow up - especially interested to see how difficult it is for conventional keyboardists to learn - clearly the inventor himself has mastered it!

I see so many BS patents I'm glad you got one for an honest, creative innovation!

(BTW, got here via Google based on a mention in iTunes review of Other True Self.)

  • actually this is a genius innovation, a major event in the history of music.
