  • wow, this is MUCH slower than the Velvelettes version (which got released as single). Wasn't expecting that...

Talk about a heartwrenching vocal...I love Paul's voice...

  • I've never heard the Velvelettes' version. Is it good?

  • i think it's good- do a search for the velvelettes lonely lonely girl am I- there's a few different posts with it on youtube. It's more uptempo- the Funk Bros. are gettin' it on that song...

take it on it's own merits, cuz this version is very different...

  • I'll check it out.

  • I just discovered this great song on their Gettin' Ready CD and have been playing it a lot. Thanks for posting this.

  • You're welcome!

  • First time I've ever heard Paul go falsetto

  • If you grew up listening to groups there is no way in the world that anyone can deny the singing of these brothers. The Tempts are singing "notes" all the way through this. Melvin Franklin on Bass set a foundation that was totally incredible and Paul sang a great lead. Eddie and David hit the False and First Tenor and Otis was in the middle connecting everything. When I want to hear a "singing group" I listen to this. One of my all time favorite Groups.

  • He said, "Every where i go i visualize her face, I'm just a lonely man with a tear stained face" DAMN!...need i say anymore?...one of the all time best albums EVER!

  • @trt524 I played this song and many others on this album over and over. It was hard to name a favorite.

  • Paul doing a lot of good voices in this song.

  • This song actually was one of those previously recorded songs that were picked from the can for this album. This song was recorded December 27, 1963 AND it includes David. Al's last song was "Just Let Me Know" recorded December 17, 1963. This is David's second song with the group following December 20th's "Positively Absolutely Right" which has the group singing in unison in falsetto against Melvin.

  • Thanks for the upload. I never heard this one. I'm a huge Paul W fan.

  • this is a sad nword here; I can relate; I have felt like this; boy them feelings is a mutha; i love this song by the Temptations; you really feel it!
