My mother had it for 16 years and u would not have known that anything was wrong with her until u noticed her fingers (a few of them were amputated)...... The key to it is drinking a lot of water and staying active. My mom ALWAYS had water with her, and she went jogging/walking on the beach EVERY morning (we live in the Bahamas)... Also, monitor your salt intake. My mom also made sure she had her checks ups on a regular basis.
It is still a question whether or not Scleroderma is hereditary (it is still being researched), but I believe it is because, my mother had it (for 16 years before passing away in 2001), My cousin (age 46) just found out a month ago that she had it, and unfortunately, she passed away today...also, I have another cousin who suffers from it now.
My father has scleroderma and recently had his nail come off on his index finger and his toes and hands are STIFF cannot bend and peeling everywhere.... :(
It never dawned on me until today to look up videos for some help ... Thanks for this post and if anyone knows any form of natural pain relief as I believe there is still no cure... please let me know...
Good Luck and Love to All who suffer from this disease and any other..

What medications have been prescribed for you? I have Morphea and still being tested. I was prescribed Topomex by a Derm and Plaquenil by a Rheum.
