wait,, so if you transfect a plasmid into the agrobacterium with out putting it into the tdna will it still get transfected into plant tissue ?

@arkfussion no. the T-DNA carries the instructions for inserting exogenous DNA into the plant genome.

so if you use restriction enzymes to insert the gene of choice into the T DNA section of the plasmid that gene would be inserted into the plant genome? would you need to remove the T DNA and replace it so you dont just make tumors? and what would be the appropriate promoters for the dna or are the all ready in the Ti plamid. and how do you select the bacteria that take up the recombinant plasmid? by putting ampR some where on the plasmid but not the t dna section ?
