Having a bad day? Blame it on your parents. This is my favourite poem by Phillip Larkin (1922-1985)Not my usual thing, but hey, felt a bit arty.

  • @dippingbird How do you know about Arvo Pärt? Are you estonian? :D

  • Brilliant poem. Great music. Well edited. Way too cynical a world-view for me!

  • I love the juxtaposition between the photos of smiling parents and their newborns, the melancholy music, and Larkin's bitter words. Also how the images become darker towards the end, what with the soldiers and the shouting silhouettes, before that final condom picture, which made me laugh. You've constructed this video perfectly.

  • @dippingbird It is Spiegel im Spiegel. It's absolutely fab!!

  • I have the title tattooed on me. =)

    I <3 this poem.

  • What music is this?

    I love this poem.

  • get out as early as you can and don't have any kids yourself

  • Is it just me or is this the worst poem ever?
