  • @bcsizemore Yes. Poor construct of a sentence. It's to tackle others as long as you know that's OK with them to be saved. But your child is something different. This is something you own.

  • @larsiemannen What are you talking about??? This comment makes no sense. Please elaborate.

  • @bcsizemore Well. Then I would forgive you. whats the problem? If a person would do a suicide, he would forgive you - then go and do the same all over. Just let the thought of controlling other go; it doesn't work and never will work.

  • [Continued 2 of 2]

Now, would I be justified in assaulting you afterwards in order to punish you for unintentionally endangering yourself? Obviously, I would not. You have every right to stop your child from running into the street, but you have no right to beat them for being stupid.

  • @larsiemannen

"If your child would run on the high-way, would you take its freedom to not do it?" Suppose you are walking by some tall construction and I am not far from you. I see something fall and it's clear that it is going to hit you. I run and tackle you in order to save you from injury. Would you really consider this to be me physically forcing you to do something? No, clearly this.an exception. [Continued 1 of 2]

"Would you force your kids to eat?" You DO NOT have to force your kids to eat anymore than you have to force an adult to eat. Google hunger.

  • @bcsizemore: This is utterly bullshit! If your child would run on the high-way, would you take its freedom to not do it? Would you force your kids to eat? What about school if they don't want to!?! If the kids own them self, then you have to blackmail them; eat your food or I throw you out of this house. It's OK to beat your kids if its nescessarly... or the housepolice gonna steal the kids from their parents?

  • @larsiemannen

Owning human beings IS slavery. Yes, it should be illegal to PHYSICALLY force your child to do anything that they do not want to do. This logic clearly applies to adults and it should apply to children even more so. The mentality towards children which labels them as somehow being inferior to adults lies at the root of the majority of societies problems. Authoritarian parenting results in authoritarian societies.

  • How come you don't own your child? Should it be illegal to force your kids to eat dinner, or else they would not get dessert - or they should go to their room without food for the rest of the day?
