It makes perfect sence for Dell to recommend the use of Windows, the customer group Dell is targetting has little to no deeper knowledge about computers, most only knows how to use a computer from work. As most companies and the state uses Windows, go figure...

@plutgamer except when you have to compile... scons, cmake, git, path to source, build folder??? come on, NOT that friendly. Why not make it as simple as Windows, I like double click on a file and let it autoexecute, What, is not geeky enough!? I use Ubuntu because I do not have money to buy a Mac.

What I've heard about Dell's Ubuntu based computers is that sadly Dell loads alot of their branded bloatware onto the system so while you do get Linux (woohoo) you'd almost be better off reinstalling a fresh copy of Ubuntu or other distro just to clear out the bloat (aww man..)

@moldjelly Sadly, I have to use Windows XP at work, but I've managed to set up a Linux Mint machine to do some video work on as well.
