Mrs. Nina S. McCarn was overcome with grief when she found out that her oldest son, Harold B. McCarn, had been killed in action during the final days of World War II. It would be six months until she found out where he was killed and four years until found out the exact location where he was buried. During 1945 she wrote this poem on the back side of a Glenn L. Martin company form while working in the B-26 assembly plant in Baltimore, MD. More info at www.pfcharoldbmccarn.com
