How to Build a Very Inexpensvie Grow Light System

This is an easy way to build a simple grow light system for starting seeds indoors. The system uses a large Sterilite tub, some all thread, a few nuts and fender washers and some plywood to reinforce the lid.

The system is very easy to build and to adjust the height of the light with. It is important to use full UV spectrum lights with a system like this. I used 9 dollar lights you can get at Walmart and while not the best they have done quite satisfactory with growing my seedlings.

Second while I completely agree with what you said, this light really is for starting plants like tomatoes and peppers. It is for STARTING plants so I do think it would be very useful for those that need to "grow things to maturity indoors" though I am sure it could be modified a bit to do so if someone chose to. I am a libertarian, I don't smoke but I don't care if you do.

Sheesh Jack, some people are giving you a hard time on this. this setup is what i used last season and it worked nicely. This year i'm trying to get my foot into the greenhouse door. It's funny that so many assume that grow light equals weed. keep up the great work jack. You have helped to change my life and the lives of those around me.

@saucey2427 LED's i use them for my ghost peppers and they love them and since they give off next to no heat you don't have to worry about adjusting all the time plus they last forever i have had mine for 3 years and they still work great.

Thanks for the video. I'm torn between using the 2' flos or buying the LED panel to build my seed starting station. Either one will be better than my current window method.
