@dsample Are you dumb.
They're referring to the Old English Sheep Dog that's bred to have a bob-tail.

Old English Sheep Dogs *DO* have tails. It's now illegal (at least in the UK) to cut their tails, and for a 'respectable' channel like Animal Planet to say that's the way to differentiate between an Old English Sheepdog and a Bearded Collie is just plain wrong.

We have an 8 yr old. beardie, named Sweet Pea, whom we've had since a pup. She is great with children and other dogs. She amuses visitors to our door with her antics of greeting them at the front door, yet being in the front yard before they even exit their vehicle. She is so quick, we're often asked if we have two dogs! Love their sweet disposition and bounce. They never loose their bounce or their enthusiasm. This is our 2nd Beardie.

Mizz Maizie Marbles is the third Beardie I have owned...she is a pet therapy dog. We visit nursing homes, hospitals, and 11th hour patients. There is no sweeter, more playful dog breed than a Bearded Collie. Sick at home, she is at my feet as I write, her head on my lap. They are extremely patient, friendly, and never once I have seen one bare its teeth in anger or hostility, it is simply not in their nature to be agressive. They have hair, not fur, so they are non-shedding hypo-allergenic.
