Ferrofluid Sculpture Project. Can be controlled by moving your hand forth and back in the free air. Semester Project, 3. semester Electrical Engineering, University of Southern Denmark, TEK.

The coil is made of 380 meters of wire, and 2000 turns.
Current in the coil is 0-3A, depending on the distance of the users hand (5-30cm), from the ultrasound sensor.

  • @jona0497 thanks for replying, I'm trying to do a similar project but am having a few difficulties. What was the voltage range you were working with? I have an electromagnet which is 32V but next to nothing is happening so any advice is appreciated!

  • @ch2011ww you need to supply a whole lot of current. 32V is fine, but you need to be able to pull as much as maybe 6A out of your supply. We got away with 2-3A as far as i remember.
