1983 Gator Bowl Florida vs Iowa Special thanks to ABC Sports for airing some of the halftime show. This is the earliest recording I have of the Gator Band, recorded on my first VCR, Panasonic PV-1275.

At 0:20, 2:20 and 4:58 look for Albert's 36 foot friend, Ramone, from the 1980 B-movie, "Alligator."

FYI: If you think the idea of a 36 foot plus alligator is impossible, there is a fossil skull on display in the American Museum of Natural History in New York of an extinct crocodile.

The skull is over five feet long. Image that such monsters once did roam the earth!

I bought it new back in December 1983 and then recorded the Gator Bowl with rabbit ears - no cable back then. I still have it; one of these days I need to replace its sensor lamp to see if it can still play tapes.
