This video is kinda tribute to the best Cure drummer of all time... Mr. Boris Peter Bransby Williams! Jason Cooper has no attitude towards the drums and he seems always insecure and his sound oh boy! his sound is terrible, like a toy drumset always tuned high.

Recently I noticed that when playing Lovecats in the RAH this year Robert was requesting more volume for Jason as he was soft hitting the skins as usual.

THE CURE NEEDS A DRUMMER WITH BALLS AND ATTITUDE AND GOOD SOUND. period.

Can you prove it or is only your idea? So with your argument we can say that Boris can't play "The Caterpillar", and only Jason and Andy can play it.

Both have their own style but to me, Boris seems to give that extra mile. He seems to have a love for playing. Just watch him playing in the videos and live! he seems so enthustatic at the drums. He seems to really enjoy it . As to Jason, well, he just doesn't seem to project it. It's like "I'm here to play attitude" and he always looks nervous and insecure eventhough he has many things already recorded.

Have you watched Boris playing To wish impossible things? he plays ALL you hear. AMAZING!

As you seem to be a guy with lots of knowledge. Taking advantage of that, please give me the name of a video where I can see a drummer using tapes with his snare and percussion instruments recorded already.

Even though I prefer Boris, Jason is seriously not a bad drummer and I don't understand the hatred. I think that "classic" Cure purists have scapegoated him for the new albums not living up to their expectations. That would be Robert's fault, if anything.

AND PLEASE if anyone ever gets the chance, steal Jason's piccolo snare and roll it out into the highway where it belongs. It is NOT suited for any cure songs prior to 1994. It pats and pats and never hits with strength, and ruins songs like 100 years that need a snare with coils and lots of power.

Jason needs to hit the snare twice in the pause during Pictures Of You. The camera even focusses on his snare during trilogy and he still didn't do it. Thing is, Boris wrote long repeating sections of drums, not just a feel for the moment fill here or there. That should be respected by the new drummer, but isn't. the best jason songs are the ones where he follows boris' idea to orchestrate the drums, not just provide fills and keep the beat: examples: NY Trip, Truth Goodness & Beauty...

And I don't understand your point mentioning Caterpillar. I think you got me wrong, but I can reply by saying that if Jason can play it (badly of course) then Boris, Andy or even Lol can play it better. Really. Jason is that bad.

"It's not what you play but what you DON'T play"... a fact in the drum world... but Jason just seems not to know that...he always bashes the cymbals and plays that stupid hip-hop rhythm and the same drum fills... duh! Lawrence Tolhurst is a better musician than jason trooper... :)
